dicon is Now Available
April 12, 2026
dicon, our desktop tool for building and inspecting Windows .ico files, is now available. Head to the dicon product page to download it.
What It Does
dicon lets you assemble multi-resolution icon files from source images. Browse a folder of images, drag them onto icon slots, and export a finished .ico file. If you need to inspect an existing icon, open it in dicon to see exactly which resolutions and bit depths it contains.
Key Features
- Drag-and-drop assembly — browse source images and drag them onto icon slots
- Auto-assignment — automatically matches source images to slots by size
- Project files — save your layout as a .dicon file to reopen and re-export later
- ICO import — open existing .ico files to inspect or modify their contents
- Multiple bit depths — PNG 32-bit, ARGB 32-bit, RGB 24/16-bit, and indexed 8/4/1-bit
- Flexible slots — standard sizes from 16x16 to 256x256, with the ability to add or remove slots
